Fake Tilt Shift Photography

September 7, 2008 13:26 by Marc in Uncategorized

I have been playing around more and more with my camera and spending more and more time on flickr and this weekend I came across Tilt-Shift Photography.
This is an effect of taking a normal photo and converting it into a photo that looks like a scene from mini town, where everything looks miniaturized.

There are 2 ways to do this. Either you can buy an expensive lens for your camera, or you can “fake it” and use good old photoshop. I went the latter for obvious reasons :)
And this is what I managed to do. I don’t think its to bad. Check out my Flickr photo stream for a couple more I tried and lemme know what you think.

A third option is a Lensbaby; they’re pretty fun from what I hear and a lot cheaper than proper tilt-shift lenses.

Great pic. I wasn’t sure if this technique would word well with images depicting motion, but clearly it works :)!
